Design and Architecture

Symmetry and alignment were important considerations in this design.  So too was the simple monochromatic palette and clean low maintenance finishes.

The entire envelope of this house was prefabricated in a factory and assembled on site over three days.  We used a system of flat pack Structural Insulated Panels by Carbonlite that were craned and fixed into position with openings preformed and airtight membranes already installed.  

The interiors were designed to be functional, rational and durable to withstand children’s activities. 

We used sustainably sourced and recyclable materials wherever possible.  These include marmoleum floors, flat pack cabinetry with plywood linings, stainless benches, modular racking and storage systems.  

Every detail of their family’s lifestyle was considered, discussed, researched and factored into the completed design.

Design Efficiency

This approach included the creation of clever storage and multi-purpose spaces that allowed us to create a Kitchen/Living/Dining; Rumpus room; Three Bedrooms including master with walk in robes, Two Bathrooms, Office; Laundry; Cloakroom within 155square metres.  There is also a s Single Car Garage and Partially covered Al Fresco Dining Area.

The house is fully accessible allowing for future needs.

Energy Performance

We are really proud to report that Michelle and Andrew are living in an officially Certified Passive House plus.

Their family are  always comfortable and love living in their custom designed house that is tailored to their tastes and needs.  

The house could be disconnected from the grid with the simple addition of a battery.  It is all-electric with Solar PV and generates substantially more than it uses annually. 

It is airtight and has Heat Pump hot water,  Rainwater harvesting, Heat Recovery Ventilation, A single split system, Triple Glazed Alu-Clad windows and external operable blinds.
