Glu-Lam Passive House Albert Park

The completed living spaces

Melbourne, designed by architect and Certified Passive House Designer Niall O Healaithe of Sunpath Architects.

This all-electric home has been constructed using prefabricated glue-laminated hardwood timber post and beam framing, fire-rated boundary panels, and an insulated screed floor system.

Built to the rigorous Passive House Plus standard, the project features a highly insulated, airtight building envelope and roof-mounted solar PV panels that generate most of the home’s energy needs.

The home includes:

  • Triple-glazed alu-clad windows (Logikhaus)

  • Zehnder Q350 heat recovery ventilation system

  • Reverse-cycle heating and cooling

  • Rainwater harvesting

  • Low VOC, low embodied energy materials throughout

The combination of mass timber prefabrication, high-performance insulation, and clean all-electric operation results in a home that is not only sustainable and efficient, but also beautifully crafted and built for long-term comfort.

It has been designed by Architect and passive House Designer, Niall O Healaithe of Sunpath Architects in Melbourne.
